Tax Manager – Advisory

About the role

This permanent position offers an exciting opportunity for an experienced Tax Manager to join a leading accountancy practice in Crawley. You will be responsible for delivering high‑quality tax advice to a diverse client base while supporting the growth of the advisory team.

Key responsibilities

• Liaise with HMRC on clearance applications, enquiries and other correspondence.
• Draft reports, letters and advice on a wide range of tax advisory matters.
• Prepare tax calculations and supporting documentation for client engagements.
• Attend client meetings and collaborate with other team members on project delivery.
• Train, mentor and review the work of junior staff.
• Support Directors and Partners within the Tax Advisory Group.
• Advise on corporate restructurings, investor reliefs (EIS/SEIS) and staff incentive schemes.
• Provide remuneration, succession and inheritance tax planning for owner‑managed businesses and individuals.
• Prepare R&D claims, VAT, SDLT and other tax returns.

Required profile

• Degree in Finance, Accounting or a related discipline.
• Professional tax or accounting qualification.
• Proven experience in tax advisory and management.
• Strong project management and client service abilities.
• In‑depth knowledge of UK tax legislation and regulations.

Required skills

• Tax advisory expertise.
• Experience preparing corporate tax computations and returns.
• Knowledge of EIS/SEIS, R&D tax credits, VAT, SDLT and inheritance tax matters.
