Tax Manager – High-Quality Clients, Real Progression, No City Commute

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Tax Manager to join a forward‑thinking, independent Chartered Accountancy practice located just south of Cambridge. The role offers a balanced mix of strategic involvement, technical delivery and mentorship, allowing you to manage your own portfolio of corporate and private clients while working with a dedicated tax team.

Key responsibilities

• Review and prepare corporate tax computations.
• Prepare and review partnership, trust and personal tax returns.
• Manage and support R&D tax credit claims.
• Assist with tax planning strategies for clients.
• Collaborate with managers and wider teams to ensure timely job completion.
• Mentor junior team members, review their work and provide constructive feedback.
• Serve as the primary point of contact for your client portfolio, handling queries and maintaining relationships.

Required profile

• ATT and/or CTA qualification, or equivalent experience.
• Strong technical knowledge of corporate and personal tax.
• Experience managing a mixed client portfolio within an accountancy practice.
• Proven client‑facing advisory skills.
• Previous experience mentoring or managing junior staff.
