Tax Manager

About the role

Join one of Yorkshire’s largest in‑house tax teams and help shape the future of tax at a leading UK supermarket retailer. As a Tax Manager you will support the Corporate Tax Senior Manager and Head of Tax across a broad range of tax matters, delivering project‑focused solutions in a fast‑paced environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support employment tax matters, including PAYE Settlement Agreement submissions, Benefits in Kind, Off‑Payroll Working, National Minimum Wage compliance and overseas issues.
• Assist with group tax governance, such as Senior Accounting Officer requirements, tax strategy and corporate criminal offence processes.
• Manage corporation tax for a sub‑group of UK procurement companies, handling UK compliance and coordinating overseas tax advisors.
• Provide property tax support, including SDLT and related corporation tax considerations.
• Handle HMRC enquiries and audits, manage group tax filings and advise finance teams on the tax impact of business and legislative changes.

Required profile

• ACA/CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Experienced project manager.
• Comfortable working in a fast‑paced, commercial retail environment.
• Strong communicator with a collaborative mindset.
• Eager to learn and develop within a supportive team.
• Significant practical tax technical experience, including interpreting and applying UK tax legislation.
• Part‑time and flexible working options will be considered.
