Tax Manager

About the role

We are seeking an ambitious Tax Manager to join our forward‑thinking, people‑focused firm. Based in Manchester (with flexibility to work from Altrincham, Chester or Bury), you will become a key member of a close‑knit Tax Advisory team delivering high‑quality advice to high‑growth clients.

Key responsibilities

• Partner with Tax Directors and Senior Managers on complex advisory and compliance projects.
• Provide advice on acquisitions, disposals, reorganisations, employee ownership trusts, share schemes, incorporations and remuneration planning.
• Lead HMRC enquiry responses and review junior team work.
• Act as a trusted technical resource for smaller firms and internal teams.
• Coach, develop and inspire junior members of the tax team.

Required profile

• ACCA, ACA or CTA qualified (or equivalent).
• Approximately 3+ years post‑qualification experience in tax within a practice.
• Experience advising owners‑managers on corporation tax, income tax and capital gains tax matters.
• Exposure to VAT is a plus.
• Strong communicator with a proactive, hands‑on attitude.
