Tax Senior

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Tax Senior to join a fast‑growing accountancy and business advisory group in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, deliver high‑quality compliance work and support junior team members.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, ensuring a consistently high standard of service.
• Prepare and review tax returns in line with company procedures and statutory requirements.
• Deliver work accurately, within agreed deadlines and budgets.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a trusted point of contact.
• Train, mentor and support junior members of the tax team.
• Represent the firm professionally both internally and externally.
• Contribute to team success by promoting innovation and excellent client service.

Required profile

• ATT qualification preferred; qualified‑by‑experience candidates also considered.
• 3–5 years of tax experience, ideally within an accountancy practice.
• Proven experience managing a personal tax client portfolio.
• Broad knowledge of personal tax legislation.
• Strong organisational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.

Required skills

• Proficiency with tax software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
