Tax Senior – Personal Tax (Liverpool)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Senior specialising in personal tax to join a leading accountancy practice in Liverpool. The role provides exposure to high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners, with a clear progression path towards management.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, directors, landlords, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns.
• Advise clients on personal tax matters and identify tax‑efficient planning opportunities.
• Support capital gains tax, inheritance tax, residency‑related matters and HMRC enquiries.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
• Mentor and support junior members of the tax team.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in tax legislation and ensure compliance across the portfolio.

Required profile

• ATT qualified, CTA qualified/part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Previous personal tax experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal taxation and self‑assessment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Organised with the ability to manage multiple deadlines.
• Proactive, ambitious and keen to develop into a future leadership role.
