Tax Senior – Personal Tax (Wirral)

About the role

We are seeking a Tax Senior specialising in personal tax to join a leading accountancy practice in Wirral. The role offers a clear progression path towards management and exposure to complex advisory work for high‑net‑worth individuals, entrepreneurs and business owners.

Key responsibilities

• Manage a portfolio of personal tax clients, including high‑net‑worth individuals, directors, landlords, sole traders and partnerships.
• Prepare and review self‑assessment tax returns and support capital gains, inheritance and residency tax matters.
• Advise clients on tax‑efficient planning opportunities and ensure compliance with current legislation.
• Handle HMRC enquiries and correspondence on behalf of clients.
• Build and maintain strong client relationships through excellent service delivery.
• Mentor and support junior members of the tax team.
• Stay up‑to‑date with changes in tax legislation and apply them across the portfolio.

Required profile

• ATT qualified, CTA qualified/part‑qualified, or qualified by experience.
• Previous personal tax experience within an accountancy practice.
• Strong technical knowledge of personal taxation and self‑assessment.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
• Organised, able to manage multiple deadlines and proactive about professional development.
• Ambitious and keen to develop into a future leadership role.
