Tea Mixologist – Part‑time Temporary Role

About the role

Join Bird & Blend’s London Portobello store to create a fun, interactive and exceptional customer experience. You’ll mix tea‑based drinks, share your passion for our unique blends, and handle everyday retail duties such as cleaning, stock‑taking, opening and closing the shop, as well as sampling in‑store and at events.

Key responsibilities

• Use enthusiasm for Bird & Blend to sell products and meet store sales targets.
• Handle till transactions smoothly and accurately.
• Follow store procedures for deliveries, stocktakes and replenishment while keeping the stockroom organised.
• Maintain a healthy, safe and tidy work environment.
• Support sustainability goals as a B‑Corp certified business.
• Provide empathetic teamwork and support to store management.
• Become an expert on all products, drinks and the brand’s ethical commitments.
• Greet customers with samples, create a welcoming atmosphere and ensure customer happiness.
• Assist with store and local events, including occasional evenings.
• Promote the brand by sampling inside and outside the store and at external events.

Required profile

• Previous customer‑service experience, preferably in retail or hospitality.
• Ability to represent the brand proudly and inspire others.
• Genuine passion for tea and confidence to share enthusiasm.
• Strong interpersonal skills, professionalism and empathy.
• Flexible availability to cover varying shifts, weekends and some evenings.
• Commitment to going above and beyond for customer satisfaction.
• Comfortable approaching people with samples both inside and outside the store.
