Teacher (Core Subjects) for ASD & SEMH pupils

About the role
This permanent, full‑time position is for a Teacher of core subjects at a new inclusive school opening in September 2026. The school supports children and young people aged 5‑19 with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and social, emotional and mental health (SEMH) needs, aiming to provide a safe and aspirational learning environment.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver differentiated lessons that meet individual pupil needs and align with the national curriculum up to GCSE level.
- Monitor and report pupil progress to parents, carers and senior staff.
- Lead a subject or curriculum area and support fellow teachers.
- Manage and supervise classroom support staff.
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding, equality, health and safety policies.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
- Experience working with pupils with SEND, preferably autism.
- Strong knowledge of the national curriculum and ability to set personalised targets.
- Calm, positive attitude in challenging environments.
Required skills
- Planning and assessment expertise.
- Classroom management techniques.
- Ability to differentiate instruction for diverse learners.
