Teacher of French with Spanish

About the role

This permanent position is for a Teacher of French with Spanish in a successful, inclusive secondary school in East London. The role starts in September 2026 and involves teaching across Key Stages 3, 4 and potentially 5, helping students develop confidence in communication, cultural awareness and global understanding.

Key responsibilities

• Teach French to students in KS3, KS4 and possibly KS5, and Spanish to KS3 learners.
• Deliver engaging, challenging lessons that promote language acquisition and cultural understanding.
• Plan, prepare and assess lessons in line with departmental schemes of work.
• Support students in developing speaking, listening, reading and writing skills.
• Prepare students for GCSE examinations and monitor progress.
• Provide targeted interventions where necessary.
• Contribute to extracurricular activities, language clubs and international opportunities.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
• Experience teaching French and Spanish within a UK secondary school setting.
• Ability to teach French to KS4/KS5 and Spanish to at least KS3.
• Strong subject knowledge and passion for language learning.
• Effective classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting student welfare.
