Teacher of History – Full‑time Contractor

About the role
This full‑time temporary position starts in September 2026, delivering a rigorous and inspiring History curriculum for Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 (with potential for Key Stage 5) in a vibrant secondary academy in Leeds.
Key responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high‑quality History lessons across KS3 and KS4.
- Provide full classroom management and act as a core member of the school community during a temporary staff absence.
- Assess student progress, analyse data and intervene to close learning gaps.
- Contribute to the school’s collaborative culture and uphold its high standards.
Required profile
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), QTLS or equivalent UK teaching qualification.
- Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).
- Thorough knowledge of the UK National Curriculum for History at KS3 and KS4.
- Legal right to work full‑time in the UK.
- Strong behaviour management, communication, lesson design, data literacy, digital competency and time‑management skills.
