Teacher of Humanities – Full-time, September start

About the role

Reed Education is partnering with a forward‑thinking secondary school in Leeds to recruit a passionate Teacher of Humanities for a September start. This full‑time, long‑term position offers the chance to inspire students across KS3 and KS4 while developing critical thinking about history, geography and global issues.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging Humanities lessons covering History, Geography and RE for a range of abilities.
• Foster discussion, analysis and curiosity about societal and cultural topics.
• Monitor student progress, provide constructive feedback and maintain accurate records.
• Create a respectful, open‑minded classroom environment that encourages inquiry.
• Contribute to enrichment activities and cross‑curricular projects within the wider school community.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent teaching qualification.
• A degree in Humanities or a related subject such as History, Geography or Politics.
• Proven experience teaching Humanities at secondary level.
• Strong classroom management and communication abilities.
• Genuine enthusiasm for helping students understand the world around them.
