Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (0.4 FTE)

About the role

The Royal Sutton School is seeking a part‑time Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages (MFL) to join a supportive team. This role involves delivering high‑quality MFL lessons across Key Stages 3, 4 and, where applicable, Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated lessons that meet the needs of all learners.
• Monitor, assess and report on student progress in line with school policies.
• Create a positive, inclusive classroom environment that supports wellbeing and achievement.
• Contribute to curriculum development and departmental initiatives.
• Participate in extracurricular activities and wider school life.
• Collaborate with colleagues, parents and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or working towards it.
• Strong subject knowledge and a passion for teaching MFL.
• Excellent classroom management and communication skills.
• Commitment to raising achievement and supporting student progress.
• Willingness to engage in continuous professional development and reflective practice.

• No specific technical skills required beyond standard teaching tools.
