Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Children with Additional Needs

About the role

We are seeking a full‑time Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated 1:1 support for children with additional needs in a primary school within the St Teresa of Calcutta Catholic Academy Trust. The role will primarily focus on individualized assistance while also contributing to general classroom activities as needed.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support to children with additional needs in a primary school setting.
• Assist the class teacher with general classroom duties as required.
• Implement individualized support plans and monitor progress.
• Maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.

Required profile

• Kind, patient and flexible with a genuine passion for supporting children.
• Experience working with children with additional needs (desirable).
• Confident working both one‑to‑one and as part of a team.
• Strong communication and emotional intelligence.
• Reliable, proactive and able to follow instructions while using initiative.
• Supportive of the Catholic ethos of the school.
