Teaching Assistant – 1:1 Support for Year 4 Pupils

About the role

We are seeking a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to provide dedicated one‑to‑one support for a Year 4 pupil in Whiston. This temporary, part‑time position offers flexible hours and the chance to progress to a permanent role within a supportive school environment.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver 1:1 assistance to a Year 4 student, helping him access the curriculum.
• Support the class teacher in delivering engaging lessons aligned with the National Curriculum.
• Provide small‑group support where needed.
• Promote a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere.
• Assist with behaviour management and emotional regulation.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in a school or similar setting.
• Previous experience delivering 1:1 support.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification or working towards one.
• Ability to build strong relationships with pupils quickly.
• Confidence in supporting positive behaviour management.
• Patience, enthusiasm, flexibility and professionalism.
