Teaching Assistant (1:2) – Year 6 Support

About the role

We are seeking two dedicated Teaching Assistants to work on a 1:2 basis with Year 6 pupils who are currently performing at a Year 1 academic level. The posts are full‑time, term‑time only, starting in September 2026, and will focus on delivering targeted interventions to help the children access the curriculum and build confidence.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver highly differentiated learning activities tailored to each pupil’s needs.
• Adapt and create learning materials to support curriculum access.
• Provide structured literacy and numeracy interventions.
• Promote independence, confidence and steady progress.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.

Required profile

• Experience supporting pupils with additional learning needs, especially SEND and ASD.
• Reliability, flexibility and a strong commitment to safeguarding.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a school team.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant qualification (desirable but not essential).
