About the role
We are partnering with a leading alternative education setting in Poulton‑le‑Fylde to recruit a dedicated Teaching Assistant. This full‑time position supports students who thrive outside mainstream schooling, helping them re‑engage with learning and build confidence.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored academic and emotional support to pupils in small groups or one‑to‑one settings.
- Assist staff in managing behaviour and fostering an inclusive, positive classroom environment.
- Act as a mentor and role model for young people facing social, emotional or mental health challenges.
- Help re‑engage students with their education through patience, empathy and understanding.
Required profile
- Previous experience working with children or young people, preferably in alternative provision, youth work or SEN/SEMH settings.
- Calm, resilient and adaptable approach to challenging situations.
- Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
- Valid DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
