Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship – SEND

About the role

This Level 3 Teaching Assistant Apprenticeship in SEND offers a blend of on‑site classroom experience and online learning. You will work in a primary school in LS8, supporting pupils with complex needs while gaining a nationally recognised qualification.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one support to pupils with complex needs such as ASD, SEMH and moderate to severe learning difficulties.
• Assist pupils with their educational and behavioural development in a primary school setting.
• Adapt lesson materials to suit individual learning styles and accessibility requirements.
• Provide feedback to teachers and parents on pupil progress.

Required profile

• Enthusiastic and passionate about helping children reach their academic potential.
• Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils.
• Commitment to a minimum 12‑month apprenticeship and availability during school holidays for online training.
• Not currently enrolled in another government‑funded programme.

Required skills

• Proficiency in basic numeracy and literacy.
