About the role
We are looking for a confident and reliable Teaching Assistant to join a lively primary school in Barking & Dagenham from September 2026. The role supports primary‑aged pupils with autism across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 on a full‑time, term‑time basis.
Key responsibilities
- Provide tailored support to autistic students, ensuring access to learning material.
- Enforce learning routines and promote independence in students.
- Support sensory needs and emotional regulation through appropriate strategies.
- Collaborate with class teachers and the SEN team to deliver consistent support.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant, preferably in a primary setting.
- Solid understanding of autism and sensory needs.
- Strong behaviour management skills.
- Confident, proactive and able to use initiative.
- Ability to build strong relationships with children, colleagues and parents.

What we offer
- Competitive daily rate of £95‑£110.
- Full‑time, term‑time contract (September 2026 – July 2027).
