About the role
This full‑time, term‑time position supports pupils with autism and additional needs in a junior school in Romford. You will work Monday to Friday for the academic year September 2026 – July 2027, providing direct assistance that improves social and educational outcomes.
Key responsibilities
- Provide 1:1 and small‑group support to KS1 and KS2 pupils with autism and SEN.
- Help children develop communication, social and emotional skills.
- Manage behaviour and emotions using positive behaviour support strategies.
Required profile
- Previous experience as a teaching assistant or similar role supporting autism/SEN.
- Patient, calm approach with strong interpersonal skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
- Commitment to equity, inclusion and understanding of sensory processing differences.
