Teaching Assistant – Bacup (Sep 2026)

About the role

Reed, a Lancashire teaching agency, is looking for a Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a Year 4 class in Bacup for the academic year starting September 2026. This full‑time, temporary position runs Monday to Friday, 08:45‑15:30, supporting the classroom teacher and pupils.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in preparing and delivering daily lessons.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group support to help pupils understand material and complete tasks.
• Maintain a supportive, inclusive learning environment.
• Manage classroom resources and set‑up activities.
• Supervise pupils during lunch, recess and other non‑classroom times.
• Help monitor and record student progress.

Required profile

• Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work with children.
• Good organisational abilities and teamwork orientation.
• Commitment to professional growth and development.
