Teaching Assistant – English Graduate

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated English graduate to join our school as a Teaching Assistant. This full‑time, term‑time role offers recent graduates valuable classroom experience and a pathway into teaching, education, or educational psychology.

Key responsibilities

• Support students during English lessons, both one‑to‑one and in small groups.
• Assist the class teacher with lesson delivery and classroom management.
• Help pupils understand mathematical concepts and complete set work.
• Provide additional support to students with special educational needs or learning difficulties.
• Encourage student engagement, confidence, and positive behaviour.
• Prepare learning materials and support differentiated activities.
• Monitor student progress and give feedback to teaching staff.

Required profile

• A degree in English or a closely related subject.
• Genuine interest in education and supporting young people.
• Strong communication skills and ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Patience, empathy and a positive attitude.
• Ability to work effectively as part of a classroom team.
• Previous experience with children is desirable but not essential.
• Ability to commute to Bracknell.
