Teaching Assistant – EYFS or SEN (2 roles)

About the role

We are supporting a primary school in the Rossendale Valley that needs two Teaching Assistants to start in September. One role focuses on Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) support, while the other assists pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN). Both positions involve working closely with the class teacher to ensure a smooth, inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the teacher in delivering daily classroom activities and lessons.
• Support EYFS children with engagement, routine, and transition into school life.
• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to SEN pupils, helping them access learning material.
• Maintain a safe, supportive, and organised learning space.
• Collaborate with staff to monitor pupil progress and wellbeing.

Required profile

• Previous experience working with children, preferably in a school setting.
• Reliable, calm, approachable, and able to build positive relationships.
• Willingness to support classroom needs and adapt to varying tasks.
• Basic understanding of EYFS or SEN, depending on the role applied for.
