Teaching Assistant – Full‑time at Tameside School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a well‑regarded school in Tameside. The role starts as soon as possible and is ongoing, working five days a week supporting pupils across all year groups.

Key responsibilities

• Assist teachers in delivering lessons and maintaining classroom order.
• Provide targeted support for SEND pupils, focusing on behaviour and learning needs.
• Deliver phonics instruction and support the EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
• Supervise pupils during lessons, breaks and other school activities.
• Contribute to a positive learning environment and help with administrative tasks as required.

Required profile

• Previous experience working within UK schools.
• Experience supporting SEND pupils and familiarity with EYFS and KS1 curriculum.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or ability to obtain one) and any relevant overseas police checks.
• Legal right to work in the UK and a complete CV covering full employment history.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEND support strategies.
• Understanding of phonics teaching methods.
• Familiarity with EYFS and KS1 curriculum content.
