Teaching Assistant – Full‑time Temporary Role in Rochdale (Sept 2026)

About the role

We are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join a primary school in Rochdale from September 2026. The position is full‑time and temporary for the academic year, working five days a week from 08:45 to 15:30.

Key responsibilities

  • Support KS1 teachers in the preparation and delivery of daily lessons.
  • Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to help pupils understand material and complete tasks.
  • Assist with classroom resource set‑up and management.
  • Supervise pupils during non‑classroom times such as lunch and recess.
  • Help monitor and record student progress under the teacher’s guidance.

Required profile

  • Holding a Teaching Assistant qualification or an equivalent certification.
  • Previous experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal and organisational abilities.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a teaching team.
  • Commitment to ongoing professional development.
