About the role
This permanent, full‑time position supports a welcoming primary school in Barking and Dagenham. You will work closely with teachers to help pupils engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their potential in a supportive, inclusive environment.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers across the classroom, preparing lessons and organising resources.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils.
- Help manage pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
- Promote positive behaviour and active participation during lessons.
- Contribute to a safe, inclusive and engaging learning atmosphere.
Required profile
- GCSE English and Maths (grade C/4 or above).
- Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Positive, patient and enthusiastic attitude.
- Desirable: previous teaching assistant experience, knowledge of SEN and intervention support, Level 2/3 TA qualification, or a degree in Education, Psychology or related subject.
