Teaching Assistant

About the role

Hays Education is recruiting motivated Teaching Assistants to support secondary schools across North London. You will work alongside teachers to deliver engaging lessons and provide both academic and pastoral support to students in Key Stages 3, 4 and, where applicable, Key Stage 5.

Key responsibilities

• Support students during lessons across a range of subjects.
• Deliver one‑to‑one and small‑group intervention to meet individual learning needs.
• Promote positive behaviour and encourage active participation.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and supportive classroom environment.
• Assist teachers in preparing materials and monitoring student progress.

Required profile

• Experience working with young people in a school, tutoring, mentoring, coaching or youth‑work setting.
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Patient, adaptable and proactive attitude.
• Commitment to safeguarding and child welfare.
• A degree is desirable but not essential.

Required skills

• No specific technical skills required.
