Teaching Assistant

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our specialist SEN school in Aston. You will work in a nurturing environment, supporting pupils with autism, speech and language needs, and moderate learning difficulties.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 and small‑group interventions tailored to individual learning needs.
• Assist teachers in implementing Education, Health and Care Plan (EHCP) targets.
• Promote a safe, inclusive, and positive classroom atmosphere.
• Encourage communication, confidence, and independence among students.

Required profile

• Minimum 6 months experience as an SEN Teaching Assistant.
• Experience supporting pupils with autism and additional learning needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
• Ability to provide references covering the previous 24 months.

Required skills

• Confidence adapting to individual learning needs.
• Strong relationship‑building skills with pupils.
