Teaching Assistant Level 2 (Nursery & Pre‑School)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the nursery setting at Wyre Primary School in Great Eccleston. You will work with children aged 2 to 4 years, delivering play‑based learning and supporting their overall development throughout the Autumn term.

Key responsibilities

• Support the learning, development and wellbeing of children aged 2‑4.
• Assist the class teacher and nursery staff in delivering engaging early‑years activities.
• Promote social, emotional and educational growth through play‑based approaches.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Provide personal care assistance when required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Observe, record and report on children’s progress and achievements.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in an Early Years, Nursery or Pre‑School setting.
• Caring, patient and proactive attitude towards young children.
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.

Required skills

• Ability to support personal care needs of young children.
• Competence in observing and documenting child development.
