Teaching Assistant Level 2 – Nursery & Pre‑School

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join the early years team at Wyre Primary School. You will work with children aged 2‑4 years, helping them develop socially, emotionally and academically in a safe, stimulating environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support the learning, development and wellbeing of children aged 2‑4.
• Assist the class teacher and nursery staff in delivering play‑based early years activities.
• Maintain a safe, inclusive and positive learning environment.
• Provide personal care for children when required.
• Build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents/carers.
• Observe and report on children’s progress and achievements.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience in an Early Years, Nursery or Pre‑School setting.
• Caring, patient and proactive attitude towards young children.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
