Teaching Assistant - Level 2 - SEND Resource Base

About the role

We are looking for a compassionate Level 2 Teaching Assistant to join a primary school’s SEND Resource Base in Ashton, Tameside. You will work within a dedicated inclusion team, providing support to pupils with a range of additional needs in a small‑group setting. This long‑term, full‑time position offers the chance to make a real difference to pupils’ education and development.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one or small‑group assistance to SEND pupils in the resource base.
• Support the classroom teacher in implementing individual education plans.
• Monitor and record pupils’ progress and adapt support as needed.
• Promote an inclusive and nurturing learning environment.
• Collaborate with the inclusion team to share best practices and resources.

Required profile

• Level 2 Teaching Assistant qualification (or equivalent).
• Experience supporting children with SEND, preferably in a resource base or small‑group setting.
• Patient, empathetic and resilient attitude.
• Commitment to helping pupils reach their full potential.
