Teaching Assistant Level 4 (TA4) – Pastoral Support

About the role

We are partnering with a welcoming primary school in Denton, Tameside that values personal development, wellbeing and positive behaviour. The school seeks a dedicated Teaching Assistant Level 4 (TA4) to provide pastoral support and help pupils overcome barriers to learning.

Key responsibilities

• Provide pastoral support to pupils, assisting them in managing behaviour and emotional wellbeing.
• Build positive, trusting relationships with students both inside and outside the classroom.
• Offer classroom cover, primarily during afternoon sessions.
• Collaborate closely with teaching staff and the wider pastoral team to meet individual pupil needs.
• Promote a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• Holds a Level 4 Teaching Assistant qualification or possesses significant relevant experience.
• Previous experience working within a school or educational setting.
• Confident in supporting pupils with challenging behaviour using positive strategies.
• Calm, patient and consistent approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a wider team.
