Teaching Assistant – Liverpool Schools

About the role

We are seeking enthusiastic and reliable Teaching Assistants to support secondary school students (ages 11‑16) across Liverpool starting in September. You will work alongside teachers to enhance classroom learning and provide personalised help to pupils who need extra support.

Key responsibilities

• Work one‑on‑one or in small groups with KS3 and KS4 students to reinforce learning.
• Assist teachers in delivering lessons, preparing materials and adapting activities for diverse needs.
• Support students with exam preparation, coursework and everyday school life.
• Help maintain a positive and focused classroom environment.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children or young people as a Teaching Assistant, Support Worker, Tutor, Youth Leader or Care Assistant.
• Genuine passion for working with 11‑16‑year‑olds.
• Strong communication and listening abilities.
• Patient, flexible and positive attitude.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.
