About the role
Reed Education is looking for enthusiastic graduates to join a primary‑age specialist provision in Plymouth as a full‑time Teaching Assistant. The role starts after the May half‑term and is ideal for those interested in teaching, psychology, social work or any child‑development pathway.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils aged 4–11 with additional learning needs, developmental delays or SEMH challenges.
- Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group assistance across literacy, numeracy and creative activities.
- Help children regulate emotions, develop positive behaviour and build confidence.
- Collaborate with teachers and support staff to deliver tailored interventions.
- Maintain a warm, structured and nurturing learning environment.
Required profile
- Recent graduate from any subject area with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Patience, empathy and a genuine passion for early childhood development.
- Creative, flexible and able to model positive learning behaviours.
- Willingness to learn, follow guidance and undertake provided training.
