Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Full‑Time, Permanent)

About the role

A welcoming primary school in Newham is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant on a permanent, full‑time basis. The role supports pupils across the classroom, working closely with teachers to help children engage with learning, build confidence and achieve their potential. Immediate start with a supportive and inclusive environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the classroom.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
• Help create a safe, inclusive and engaging learning environment.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.

Required profile

• GCSE English & Maths (grade C/4 or above).
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or similar setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient and enthusiastic attitude.
• Desirable: previous experience as a Teaching Assistant.
• Desirable: knowledge of SEN and intervention support.
• Desirable: Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification.
• Desirable: degree in Education, Psychology or a related subject.
