Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Havering)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Havering, East London. The role is term‑time only and supports teachers in delivering engaging lessons across the primary curriculum.

Key responsibilities

• Assist the class teacher in delivering lessons and classroom activities.
• Work with individual pupils or small groups to reinforce literacy and numeracy concepts.
• Provide additional support for pupils with Special Educational Needs (SEN).
• Prepare and organise classroom materials, displays and learning resources.
• Promote positive behaviour and help manage the classroom environment.
• Monitor pupil progress and give feedback to the teacher.
• Supervise pupils during break times, school trips and other extracurricular activities.

Required profile

• Experience working with children in a school, childcare or youth setting (preferred).
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
• A caring, patient and supportive attitude towards children.
• Willingness to obtain an Enhanced DBS check.

• Good literacy and numeracy skills.
