Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Key Stage 1)

About the role

Remedy Education is looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a friendly primary school in Wandsworth. The role supports pupils in Key Stage 1, helping them develop phonics, literacy and numeracy skills in an inclusive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for Key Stage 1 pupils.
• Deliver targeted interventions in phonics, literacy and numeracy.
• Assist the class teacher in creating an engaging and supportive learning atmosphere.
• Collaborate with teachers, the SENCO and parents to implement individual education plans.
• Help manage behaviour and promote a positive learning experience for all students.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a primary school.
• Confidence working with pupils who have special educational needs, especially in Key Stage 1.
• Commitment to safeguarding and promoting children’s well‑being.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work well within a team.
• Right to work in the UK and willingness to obtain an enhanced DBS.

Required skills

• Experience delivering phonics, literacy and numeracy support.
• Ability to use classroom resources and basic educational software.
