Teaching Assistant – Primary School (KS1 & KS2)

About the role

We are looking for a caring and enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming mainstream primary school in Westerham. The role starts in September 2026 and supports pupils across Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2, with a strong focus on inclusion and special educational needs.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with SEN to access learning and participate fully in school life.
• Provide classroom assistance across KS1 and KS2, including small‑group interventions.
• Assist teachers and the SENDCo in implementing support strategies and individual targets.
• Prepare learning resources and help organise classroom activities.
• Promote positive behaviour, independence and pupil wellbeing.

Required profile

• Experience working with primary‑aged children in an educational setting.
• Proven experience supporting pupils with a range of SEN needs (communication, social‑emotional, mental health, cognition and learning).
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils, staff and parents.
• Patient, nurturing and adaptable approach.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
