Teaching Assistant – Primary School (KS2) – Salford

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford. The role is full‑time and long‑term, supporting Year 6 pupils (KS2) with a range of SEND and SEMH needs through classroom assistance, one‑to‑one support and small‑group interventions.

Key responsibilities

• Support Year 6 pupils in the classroom and during targeted interventions.
• Provide one‑to‑one assistance for children with SEND and SEMH needs.
• Deliver small‑group sessions to reinforce learning and progress.
• Assist pupils with ASD, ADHD, communication difficulties and other additional needs.
• Promote positive behaviour, engagement and emotional regulation.
• Adapt learning resources to meet individual requirements.
• Collaborate closely with class teachers, SENCOs and pastoral staff.
• Support pupils during lessons, break times, transitions and structured activities.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, Learning Support Assistant, Youth Worker or Support Worker.
• Experience supporting children with SEND, SEMH, ASD, ADHD or behavioural challenges.
• Strong behaviour‑management and relationship‑building abilities.
• Patient, resilient and nurturing approach.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one.
