Teaching Assistant – Primary School (Permanent, Full‑Time)

About the role

We are looking for a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Tower Hamlets, East London. You will work alongside experienced teachers to support pupils across the classroom, helping them become confident, independent learners. The role is permanent and full‑time, starting immediately or in September.

Key responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning across the classroom.
• Work with pupils on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Assist with lesson preparation and classroom organisation.
• Support pupils' academic, social, and emotional development.
• Encourage positive behaviour and active participation in lessons.
• Collaborate with teachers and support staff to meet individual pupil needs.
• Help create a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.

Required profile

• GCSE English & Maths (Grade C/4 or above).
• Experience working with children in a school, childcare, or similar setting.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Positive, patient, and enthusiastic approach.
• Desirable: previous experience as a Teaching Assistant, knowledge of SEN and intervention support, Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification, degree in Education, Psychology, or related subject.
