Teaching Assistant – Primary School SEN Support

About the role

We are seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Ashford. The role focuses on providing one‑to‑one support for pupils with Special Educational Needs, particularly those with Autism Spectrum Condition and Speech, Language and Communication Needs. You will work closely with teachers and the SENCO to create a nurturing learning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Provide 1:1 support for pupils with SEN, focusing on ASC and SLCN.
• Collaborate with teachers and the SENCO to deliver tailored interventions.
• Encourage independence, confidence and positive engagement in learning.
• Assist pupils in accessing the curriculum in a supportive setting.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant or in SEN support, preferably with ASC.
• Patient, caring and passionate about supporting children with additional needs.
• Holds or willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS.
• Available to work five days per week, Monday‑Friday.
• Excellent communication and relationship‑building skills.
• Reliable, proactive and committed to helping each child reach their potential.
