Teaching Assistant – Primary School (SEND)

About the role

Reeson Education is looking for a compassionate Teaching Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Salford. The role starts in September 2026 and focuses on supporting pupils with complex SEND needs, both one‑to‑one and within the classroom.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with high levels of additional needs individually and in class.
• Work with non‑verbal children and implement tailored communication strategies.
• Assist children with Autism Spectrum Disorder and related language needs.
• Follow individual support plans, behaviour strategies and classroom routines.
• Promote communication, independence, emotional regulation and social development.
• Collaborate with teachers, SEND professionals and families to achieve the best outcomes.
• Provide intimate care when required, maintaining dignity and professionalism.
• Create a calm, nurturing and structured environment where pupils feel safe.

Required profile

• Previous experience supporting children with Autism Spectrum Disorder.
• Experience with non‑verbal pupils or those with communication delays.
• Confidence working one‑to‑one and in small groups or whole‑class settings.
• Patient, calm and flexible approach with strong relationship‑building skills.
• Willingness to provide intimate care when needed.
• Ability to consistently follow established routines, support plans and behaviour strategies.
• Genuine passion for helping children overcome learning barriers.

• Competitive hourly rate of £14.25‑£16.65, paid weekly via PAYE or Umbrella.
• Long‑term, full‑time contract starting September 2026.
