Teaching Assistant – Primary Schools in Islington

About the role
We are looking for enthusiastic Teaching Assistants to join inclusive primary schools across Islington from September. You will work closely with class teachers to support pupils’ learning, confidence and personal development, helping to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
Key responsibilities
- Support pupils during lessons and classroom activities.
- Work one‑to‑one and with small groups as required.
- Assist with literacy, numeracy and phonics activities.
- Encourage positive behaviour and engagement.
- Support pupils with additional learning needs where appropriate.
- Help maintain a safe, inclusive and nurturing classroom environment.
- Collaborate with teachers and the wider school team.
Required profile
- Genuine passion for education and supporting young people.
- Patient, caring and approachable attitude.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Reliable, proactive and willing to get involved.
- Graduates and aspiring teachers are encouraged to apply.
