Teaching Assistant – Primary, Secondary & SEN

About the role

Reed Education, in partnership with Lancashire County Council, is seeking qualified Teaching Assistants to support pupils across primary, secondary and SEN settings in the Lancaster area. The role is full‑time and temporary, offering the chance to work in a variety of classrooms and develop your educational expertise.

Key responsibilities

• Provide whole‑class, small‑group and one‑to‑one support to pupils, including those with special educational needs.
• Assist teachers in delivering the National Curriculum across EYFS, Key Stages 1‑5.
• Help create a safe, inclusive learning environment and uphold safeguarding policies.
• Support classroom management and contribute to lesson planning where appropriate.
• Travel between schools within the local area as required.

Required profile

• Qualified Teaching Assistant (Level 1, Level 2, Level 3 or HLTA).
• Excellent communication skills with strong spelling and grammar.
• Recent experience in primary, secondary or SEN schools.
• Commitment to professional development and a passion for working with children.
• Ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
• Willingness to undergo a DBS check.
