Key responsibilities

• Deliver targeted 1:1 and small‑group academic support to improve pupil engagement and confidence.
• Assist teachers with classroom management, resource preparation, and emotional coaching.
• Support pupils with EHCPs and SEND requirements, ensuring an inclusive learning environment.
• Manage student behaviour using trauma‑informed and positive reinforcement practices.

Required profile

• Qualified pathway: Hold a Level 2 or Level 3 TA qualification (or equivalent) with classroom support experience.
• Unqualified pathway: No prior school experience required; background in sports coaching, youth work, care, or recent graduate seeking a career change.
• Genuine passion for improving the life chances of young people in Preston.
• Excellent communication skills and patience.
