Teaching Assistant – Secondary (Hospital School)

About the role

Join SANZA Teaching Agency as a full‑time Teaching Assistant on a Hospital School serving pupils aged 4‑19 who are inpatients or day patients. You will work on the hospital wards, supporting the KS3 curriculum, particularly Science and Maths, and helping pupils with mental health and additional needs.

Key responsibilities

• Deliver KS3 Science and Maths lessons under the guidance of senior staff.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support to pupils across the hospital wards.
• Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to create a supportive learning environment.
• Maintain accurate records of pupil progress and attendance.
• Adapt teaching materials to meet individual pupil needs.

Required profile

• Previous UK experience in a secondary school setting.
• Confidence in delivering KS3 curriculum, especially Science and Maths.
• Ability to work well in a team and show initiative.
• Experience in mainstream or special school environments.
• Openness to working with pupils who have mental‑health needs.
• Positive, upbeat attitude.

Required skills

What we offer

• Full‑time schedule: 8:45 am – 4:00 pm, Monday‑Friday.
• Daily rate of £100 for the first 12 weeks, increasing thereafter.
