Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Croydon)

About the role

Reeson Education is supporting a large mainstream secondary school in Croydon. They are looking for an enthusiastic Teaching Assistant to start in September 2026. The role involves supporting pupils with moderate learning difficulties across a range of subjects and year groups.

Key responsibilities

• Create and maintain a purposeful, orderly, and supportive classroom environment.
• Assist students with learning activities in line with lesson plans.
• Use agreed strategies, alongside teachers, to help pupils achieve their learning goals.
• Support the planning and delivery of learning activities.
• Build constructive relationships with students, adapting interactions to individual needs.

Required profile

• Previous experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school, or a recent graduate aiming to become a qualified teacher.
• Experience or interest in supporting pupils with special educational needs (SEN).
• Strong interpersonal and listening skills.
• Commitment to helping each student reach their full potential.

Required skills

• Knowledge of SEN support strategies.
• Ability to follow and implement lesson plans.
• Effective classroom management techniques.
