Teaching Assistant – Secondary School (Full-time, Temporary)

About the role

Prospero Teaching is recruiting a full‑time Teaching Assistant for a medium‑sized secondary school in Waltham Forest, London. The successful candidate will support teachers and pupils across Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 throughout the academic year.

Key responsibilities

• Assist classroom teachers with lesson preparation and delivery.
• Provide one‑to‑one and small‑group support for pupils as required.
• Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment.
• Support behaviour management and pastoral care under the guidance of senior staff.
• Undertake administrative tasks such as marking, record‑keeping and resource organisation.

Required profile

• Experience working with children or young people.
• A degree (any discipline).
• Current safeguarding training completed within the last year.
• Right to work in the UK.
• Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one) and two recent professional references.
