About the role
Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to join a secondary school in Sefton. This full‑time, temporary position starts in September 2026 and offers the chance to make a meaningful impact on pupils’ academic progress and emotional wellbeing.
Key responsibilities
- Assist teachers with lesson preparation, including sorting materials and setting up equipment.
- Support students during lessons and help maintain a positive learning environment.
- Manage behaviour and promote a respectful classroom atmosphere.
- Provide emotional guidance and monitor students’ well‑being, reporting concerns as needed.
- Follow safeguarding procedures and collaborate closely with teaching staff.
Required profile
- Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent (desirable).
- Previous experience working with young people.
- Right to work in the UK.
- Enhanced DBS check with online update service or willingness to obtain one.
- At least two professional references covering the last 24 months.
