Teaching Assistant – Secondary School & Sixth Form

About the role

We are seeking a motivated Teaching Assistant to join a mixed secondary school and sixth form in South West London. The role starts in September and offers excellent daily rates, making it ideal for recent graduates or experienced assistants looking to develop their career in a supportive, award‑winning environment.

Key responsibilities

• Support pupils with special educational needs (SEN) and those with learning gaps (LAPs) during group or whole‑class interventions.
• Collaborate with teachers to identify and address individual learning needs.
• Assist with students' social, emotional and personal wellbeing as required.
• Implement behaviour management strategies in line with academy policy.
• Deliver learning activities or teaching programmes when needed.

Required profile

• Right to work in the United Kingdom.
• Enhanced DBS check (clear and up‑to‑date).
• UK bachelor's degree or overseas equivalent.
• Experience working with children, teenagers or young adults, preferably in a UK school setting.

Required skills

• Understanding of SEN and learning support strategies.
• Ability to follow and apply school behaviour policies.
• Effective communication with teachers, pupils and parents.
